Asim clinches title in Penang as other Pakistanis falls in final

Karachi: Pakistan’s squash player Asim Khan clinched Under-19 event title in Penang Junior Open Championship 2015 in Malaysia after beating compatriot Abbas Shaukat in the summit clash.

Asim recorded a convincing and straight set 11-7, 11-8, 11-8 victory against Abbas to clinch the title.

Meanwhile, all other Pakistani players in different age categories lost their final matches.

In boys Under-11 climax, Pakistan’s Huzaifa Ibrahim lost his final match to local player Joachim Chuah by 9-11, 5-11, 4-11 score.

Oan Abbas went down fighting against Egyptian Mostafa Assal by 2-11, 7-11, 6-11 score in boys Under-15 category final.

In boys Under-17 final encounter, Pakistan’s Kashif Asif put tough resistance against local player Ong Sai Hung before going down by 11-8, 6-11, 9-11, 12-10, 6-11 score.

Boys Under-11: Huzaifa Ibrahim (Pak) lost to Joachim Chuah (Malaysia) 9-11, 5-11, 4-11

Boys Under-15: Oan Abbas (Pak) lost to Mostafa Assal (Egypt) 2-11, 7-11, 6-11
