ATC extends Rauf Siddiqui’s bailOctober 30, 2015
KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday extended the interim bail of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Abdur Rauf Siddiqui in several cases regarding listening and arranging a hate speech of his leader Altaf Hussain.
As many as 23 cases registered against Siddiqui for allegedly listening, arranging and facilitating hate speeches of his leader against military, and other national security agencies.
On Saturday ATC conducted the hearing when Siddiqui’s counsel told the judges that his client could not appear before the court due to illness and his interim bail should be extended.
After hearing the arguments, ATC judge extended interim bail of Rauf Siddiqui till 20th November 2015.
It is pertinent to mention here that over 100 cases had been registered against MQM chief Altaf Hussain under the clauses of the Pakistan Penal Code and Sections 6 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 at different police stations for making remarks against the military establishment and other national security agencies in his speeches.
