Aviation Paintings, Aircraft Models Exhibition inaugurated

Karachi: A three day Aviation Paintings and Aircraft Models Exhibition was inaugurated at PAF Museum Faisal. Air Marshal (Retd) Azim Daudpota was the Chief Guest.

A ceremony of launching of Group Captain Hussaini’s new book “Flying High” was also conducted. This book presents the history of PAF through captivating paintings, making it more vivid. Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt; Chief of the Air Staff, PAF was also present at the ceremony.

While addressing, the Chief Guest said, “I would like to convey my feelings of satisfaction on the progress of PAF and mark it has made among the modern air forces of the world as a Hi-Tech 21st century Air Force. It is a matter of pride for the entire nation that PAF is ready to blunt any threat to our beloved homeland. While praising the paintings, he further said that “I congratulate Group Captain Syed Masood Akhtar Hussaini” on launching a book of this paintings “Flying High” to commemorate out PAF Shaheeds and Ghazis. While I see these paintings, I sincerely praise the intrinsic artistic flair that Group Captain Hussaini possesses. Paintings are not only a proof of his artistic capabilities, but are a chronicle of PAF history in pictorial form”.

Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, PAF while addressing the audience said that “Indeed the sacrifices rendered by the defence personnel, and recorded in writing have an impact, but with the artistic flair of internationally renowned Aviation artist, Gp Capt Hussaini, the glorious moments, depicting the illustrious men of the Pakistan Air Force in action, in the air, have become alive and very absorbing.

While talking to the media, Air Chief said that objective of such exhibition is to recall the history, because the nations who forget their history, they face lot of problems in their way forward, and especially the nation like us who is having tremendous past. PAF since its inception in 1947 has taken part in many wars PAF maintained its glorious traditions inland and abroad. He further said that in operations on western border PAF conducted all operations with same traditional glory.

Without any collateral damage In all these operation, PAF effectively targeted and eliminated internal and external terrorists. Air Chief said that by the grace of Allah and prayers of the nation, PAF will maintain its historical traditions and will follow the footsteps of its hero’s. He further reiterated that PAF will always come up to the expectations of the nation.”

Earlier Air Marshal Saeed Mohammad Khan, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training) in his welcome address said that “PAF started small in 1947 and has since than achieved excellence over the year. Its development can be segregated into several eras, like ‘the years of infancy’ when we only flew propellers, then came the ‘Jet age’ where PAF inducted Jet aircraft like ‘Attackers’ and the ‘F-86s’. The ‘Mach 2 Era’ saw the induction of the American F-104 in 1961, Chinese F-6 in 1965, and French Mirage in 1968 and the American F-16s in 1982. Today PAF is one of the most lethal in the world with more modern aircrafts like F-16 Block 52, MLU F-16s, JF-17s, SAAB-2000, ZDKs, IL-78s and UAVs joining its fleet in the recent past. PAF has and will always remain, as Quaid’s vision “second to none” in the world.

A large number of serving and Retired Armed Forces officers and people from all walks of life including painters, sculptors, critics and artists were present at the occasion.
