Ayyan Ali moved SHC to strike name from ECL

KARACHI: Super Model Ayyan Ali has approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) requesting for the removal of her name from Exit Control List (ECL).

Ayyan’s counsel submitted that placing her name in ECL is the violation of fundamental rights of it is also the violation of Article 18 of Pakistan’s constitution. Citing the interior ministry and Airport authorities as respondents, the petitioner prayed to the court to direct them to remove her name from Exit ECL.

Earlier the custom authorities returned the passport of Ayyan Ali, who is facing charges of currency smuggling, after the special court of Customs, Excise and Taxation in Rawalpindi approved her plea of returning passport.

The infamous Model was arrested from Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Airport, Islamabad on 14th March this year when she was allegedly trying to smuggle half million US dollars. The passport of Ayyan Ali and $500,000 was confiscated by custom authorities.
