Bait-ul-Sukoon provides free cancer treatment

Karachi: As many as 10,700 cancer patients from across Pakistan were provided treatment free of cost since 1999 at Bait-UI-Sukoon Cancer Hospital Karachi.

Medical Director Bait-Ul-Sukoon Hospital Dr Javeed Malik said 28,800 cancer patients had been provided Outpatient Department (OPD) facilities from 1999 to date, while over 10,000 were provided cancer treatment in healthcare.

The hospital provided free of cost medical care to over 10,000 cancer patients since its inception at Bait-ul-Sukoon. Out of them, 9730 patients underwent chemotherapy and over 2300 radiotherapy and 1870 surgeries during this time. He said per patient treatment cost comes to about Rs 500,000 to Rs1,000,000.

Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital has become a modern 50-bed 3-storeyed hospital, equipped with mammogram, ultra-sound and X-ray facilities, and a modern diagnostic and pathological laboratory.

Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital needed philanthropists help in order to provide health care facilities to non-affording cancer patients.
