Bangladesh invites Pak scientist as theme speaker

KARACHI: Bangladeshi higher education authorities invited the internationally renowned Pakistani scientist Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary as a theme speaker in the 20th IUPAC Conference on Chemical Research Applied to World Needs (CHEMRAWN XX) to be held in Dhaka from November 6 to 9.

A senior official of International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK) said that Prof. Iqbal Choudhary, who is the Director ICCBS-University of Karachi, will deliver the theme lecture on ‘Herbal Medicine for Health Care in the 21st Century.’ The conference will be held at Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Dhaka. International experts and representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and World Health Organisation will also attend the conference.

It is worth mentioning that he has written and edited 27 books, most of which have been published in USA and Europe. He is also the author of over 900 research papers and chapters in top international science journals of the West, as well as 32 US patents. The cumulative impact factor of his publications is over 1,650. This is by far the largest number of quality publications from any scientist in Pakistan. He supervised 67 students under PhD program, and 18 under MPhils. He is the volume editor of many international book series and journals. He has served as a visiting faculty in many prestigious universities of the world

He has won various international and national awards, including Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
