Bangladesh women tour smoothened path for int’l cricket: commissioner

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Wednesday declared the Bangladesh women cricket team tour successful and said it had smoothened path for international cricket in Pakistan.

“This tour has established a good image of Pakistan and sent the message to the world that the pacific citizens of Karachi love culture and sports specially cricket,” he said.

He said holding of international cricket and other sports here would provide citizens chance for recreation activities and bring positivity in their thinking and help establish peace in the city.

Siddiqui expressed hope that the sports organizations would play their role to make Karachi a centre of sports and find chances for holding sports events in the city.

He thanked all the relevant people, who were directly or indirectly involved in making the international women cricket event successful, including Rangers, police, secretary education, traffic police, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Karachi Water & Sewerage Board, district administration, assistant commissioners, Pakistan Cricket Board and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

The commissioner also thanked specially the governor Sindh and chief minister Sindh.
