Better communication between officers, public creates trust

JAMSHORO: Better communication between the officers and public creates a relationship of trust and it helps officers to give good results for the improvement of the relevant organization and the people.

This was stated by Professor Agha Rafique, a well-known drama writer, while speaking at a one-day workshop on communication skills for cadre officers, University of Sindh (SU), here on Friday.

SU Jamshoro in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted the workshop which was attended by 20 officers of the varsity.

Rafique said that the basic aim of the workshop was to improve the skills of young officers and every aspect had been covered as the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) had actively engaged the officers to enhance their communication skills through a series of workshops.

He further said that it was essential for young officers to learn the art of communication with public to ensure clear communication in order to create better environment on the campus. The workshop covered the essential aspects of communicating with public in various settings.

It comprised model communication, covering key areas such as disseminating information, career counseling of students as well as their parents, presentation skills & coping with every stressful situation tactfully etc.

It also covered academic aspects such as examination tips and tricks, stress management and handling the rush of students at the time of pre-entry test & submission of fees.

The all 20 participants were asked to act out different situations and give rationale of their management of the situation.
