KARACHI: The Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust International, Ansar Burney has once again requested Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in the greater interest of families interest and humanity to reopen Visa for the families of Pakistanis those living and working in Kuwait since long.

Burney in this regard has once again also sent letters to Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the request to intervene and negotiate with the Kuwait government in this important humanitarian matter to make all possible efforts in this regard to help Pakistani families in getting family or at-least visit Visas. He also requested Pak government to assist the Ansar Burney Trust International in this regard.

Burney said that there was a ban on visas for the families of Pakistanis living and working in Kuwait. The ban, imposed on nationals from Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, includes suspending all tourism, visit and trade visas as well as visas sponsored by spouses that now creating big problems in between the families.

He said it was indeed the prerogative of the Kuwaiti government to hire immigrant workers from any country. However, Pakistanis already working in Kuwait must be governed by laws so as not to put them under additional emotional stress, resulting from forced separation from their families.

Burney said there have been also a number of cases where families have been sent back to Pakistan after paying a hefty penalty since even after the completion of medical, fingerprinting and other formalities, residence visa was not stamped.

Burney requested Kuwait to consider Ansar Burney Trust International appeal on humanitarian grounds and allow visas to families of Pakistanis working in Kuwait.
