Karachi:,,, Burns Employees Action Committee of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) Burns Centre on Monday again boycotted their duties and held protest for non-acceptance of their genuine demands.
Members of Employees Action Committee staged protest demonstration led by Karim Khan, Imran Barowdi and Farrukh Abbas. They demanded of the Burns Centre administration to accept their genuine demands including infection allowance for employees, issuance of appointment letters, regularization of contract employees, treatment for family member of staff, protection of their jobs, increase in salaries of employees on the patron of other healthcares, allowance for technical staff and over-time to employees.
A large number of patients and attendants who reached the hospital from different areas of the city for dressing of patients suffered a great deal as a result of boycott of the staff.
The protesters said hospital administration was not ready to listen to their genuine demands and warned that if their demands are not accepted within 72 hours in written, then they would boycott duties in Burns Centre as well as the all the department’s Civil Hospital Karachi and management would be held responsible for it.
