CCTV footage about Shaikh deleted: SHC told

KARACHI: Airport Security Force( ASF) on Thursday informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that the footage of Close Circuit Television Cameras of the day on Mohammad Ali Shaikh, a front man of famous Sindhi politician, was kidnapped has been deleted automatically.

SHC bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was hearing a petition seeking a whereabouts of Shaikh who went missing on 18th June 2015 from Karachi airport.

On Thursday’s hearing Director ASF informed SHC that footage record of the day of Shaikh’s arrest cannot be produced as it has been deleted. The director submitted that CCTV record is deleted automatically after every 20 days.

The court directed the home department to furnish a complete report of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the next hearing.

Mohammad Ali Shaikh, reportedly a big fish of corruption in Sindh and front man of famous political personality belonging to Sindh, went missing on 18 June 2015 from Karachi airport.

The petition filed by Shaikh’s guard Mohammad Haroon, and Mohammad Aslam stated that Shaikh went missing on 18 June when he was going to the United States via Dubai. They pleaded the court to direct relevant authorities to produce Mohammad Ali Shaikh before the court.
