CHK organizes CME training program for nursesMarch 30, 2015
KARACHI: Civil Hospital Karachi’s (CHK) School of Nursing organized Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for nurses with aim to introduce them about the advancement in nursing field.
Nursing Superintendent CHK initiated CME program for nurses to enhance their skills. The renowned nursing experts has been conducting CME program for 50 staff nurses.
CHK’s Chief Nursing Superintendent Rubina John, when contacted, said main objective of organizing CME program was to introduce nursing community about advancement in nursing field and prevent them from various infectious diseases during duties.
She informed that School Nursing CHK organized two CME training program so far in which over 50 staff nurses attended the experts’ lectures. She said dozens of nurses contract various diseases while performing duties in public sector hospitals in Karachi and other parts of Sindh annually. She said if the awareness session is held on regular basis then we will able to reduce infectious diseases ratio in future.
She informed that risk of contracting diseases increase in medical staf,f who worked in intensive care units and other dangerous diseases wards. She said some time syringe penetrates nurses’ hands while administration injection to patients which increase the risk of contracting various diseases.
She hoped nurses’ performance would be improved in healthcare after attending the informative sessions, while patients care likely to go up in hospital.
She said organizing CME program for improvement of nursing skill is the need of hour and such program will be held in regular basis in hospital to improve health delivery system in institution.
