QUETTA: Pak-China Economic Corridor is not merely economic but a project of greatfri3endship between people of two countries. Provincial government welcomes people friendly investment.

These views were expressed by Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while speaking to Chinese Peace Development Foundation delegation which called on him under the leadership of its chief Ji Ping here Tuesday.

Chief Minister said the pace with which China has made progress in economic and other fields is beacon light for us. Economic corridor he added would ameliorate economic and social situation of the people in Gwadar, Balochistan and entire country. Investment would help eradicate unemployment and poverty.

He said provincial government had proposed China for setting up vocational centre, and investment by China in the social development for end to poverty and other facilities. He said signing of MoU by China for investment in the social sector in November was very important and people friendly step and provincial government views this steps with great regard.

He said present provincial government was paying special attention on establishment of peace and order, improving health and education and development of agriculture, livestock, fisheries and mining sectors. Provincial government would fully encourage investment in these sectors because their development would further improve education and health.

He said government was following policy of converting difficulties into opportunities.

Chinese Peace Development Foundation Chief Ji Ping said that Pak China Economic Corridor would play important role for the development of the region besides Pakistan and China. This great project would help bring closer people of the two countries, progress and prosperity of two countries. He said two countries of Pakistan and China are associated with historic friendship and cooperation

He said MoU for development of social sector in Gwadar has been signed under which schools, 500 solar lamps would be included in it.

Chief of CM Reforms Unit and economist Qaiser Bengali told that after end of dispute on economic corridor at the All Parties Conference people are now agreed on this project. He also highlighted in details importance and utility of the project.
