CM inaugurates Police Access Service for public to register complaints through SMS

Peshawar: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Pervez Khattak formally inaugurated the Police Access Service (PAS) at the Central Police office Peshawar on 12th November under which the complainants would register their complaint with police through SMS and police would respond him within 24 hours.

The Police Access Service (PAS), one of the many public service initiatives undertaken by KP Police during the current year has been launched with the objective of providing a mechanism for prompt redressal of public complaints by ensuring access and respect for all segments of society.

With the launching of Police Access Service (PAS), Citizens from across the province can now access the police through just a SMS on mobile number 0315-9007777 and the concerned police officers will contact the complainant within 24 hours.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that with this service people would now easily access to police for help adding that after online FIR registration this is another step to improve services delivery and make police more helpful to the masses.

Pervez Khattak said that he being Chief Minister has given free hand to police chief to improve the force as there is no political interference from the government side. “I wanted to change police behavior with common people and this encouraging that visible change has been brought in Thana culture,” CM said adding that he want to strengthen the force and with capacity building and proper training for investigation the cases.

“ we are making the system where people would not need to approach the influential people rather they would get their right through the system and this is why we have been introduced more one hundred laws and made amendment to remove the flaws,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, thee IGP KP Mr. Nasir Khan Durrani said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is devoted to providing equal access and respect to all citizens of the province.

The IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa further added that Police Access Service is aimed at winning over public trust and satisfaction through prompt and timely redressal of public complaints by incorporating automated technology solutions for enhanced police accessibility processes and continuous monitoring.

He acknowledged that the present government is not interfering in police maters and there is no complaint of political interference in police department.
