QUETTA: Government would mobilize all its resources to ensure security of journalists and other people and arrest of killers of Irshad mastoid and his colleagues. A meeting has been called to review start of target killings in Quetta to review incidents from every aspect.
These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while speaking to journalists at hunger strike camp organized by journalists against non arrest of killers of Bureau Chief Online News Agency Irshad mastoid, Reporter Abdul Rasool and Accountant Mohammad Yunus in front of Provincial assembly secretariat here Thursday.
Provincial Ministers and Spokesperson of government of Balochistan Jan Mohammad Buledi was also present.
Chief Minister said target killing of journalists and others is condemnable. He said government would not sit silent over such terrorists acts and steps would be taken by reviewing all aspects in this regard. He said history of journalism in Balochistan is not long. Hardly our second or third generation is associated with it. If youth were disappointed and dissociate from this it would be big loss. Security of journalists and political workers is our responsibility he said adding we are in state fo war. There are numerous problems and we all have to joint work for their resolution.
Malik Baloch said we are political people and believe in political struggle. We are taking all problems seriously. Meeting has been called to review start of target killings again and it would be reviewed from every dimension. Anyone involved in negative activities we have to stop him.
He said judicial commission was announced to probe killings of journalists its results would be seen. Irshad mastoid and his colleagues would be paid compensation according to government policy while it should also be seen what he can personally do. Most important is arrest of their killers for which time is needed. We have arrested some such accused who were involved in more than 30 killings. All resources would be mobilized for arrest of killers of journalists.
