CM opens 3-day anti polio campaign

QUETTA: Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has made a fervent appeal to the parents to feed their children of age upto five years anti polio vaccine and Vitamin A drops and should not make any lapse as healthy chidden are guarantee of healthy Balochistan.

He made this appeal while launching three day anti polio drive here Monday.

Provincial Ministers Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Sarfraz Bugti, Sardar Mustafa Tareen, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Secretary Health and representatives from UNICEF and WHO were also present.

Chief Minister administered polio drop to a child and inaugurated three day drive.

Provincial ministers and Chief Secretary also fed polio and Vitamin A drops to the children on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minster appealed to the parents through media to ensure feeding of anti polio vaccine to their children. He said surfacing of polio cases in Quetta Bloc is matter of grave concern for us. Governemnt was mobilising all resources to cleanse Balochistan of polio with the assistance of concerned world bodies but success of anti polio drive depends upon role fo parents and influential strata of society.

He said during the campaign began today 2.5 million chidden would be provided anti polio vaccine for which six thousand teams have been deployed. Comprehensive measures have been adopted for the security of these teams.

Besides Malik Baloch said parents refusing administration of polio vaccine to their children would also be apprised of the importance of vaccine.
