Commissioner chairs law, order meeting

QUETTA: Commissioner Quetta Division Qambar Dashti has said that smuggling of Iranian petrol by passenger buses must be stopped and transporters have been directed to avoid smuggling of Iranian petrol by their buses or strict action would be taken.

This eh said while chairing a meeting on improving law and order, stopping crimes, action against criminals and increasing capability of Police and Levies here Wednesday.

Regional Police Officer Arif Nawaz Khan, Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Additional Commissioner Quetta Muhammad Qasim Mengal, Deputy Commissioners of Quetta, Noshki, Chagai, Pishin, Killa Abdullah and DPOS form all districts and others were also present.

Commissioner Quetta said if district administration and Police officials were found involved in smuggling of Iranian petrol action would also be taken against them. He said no leniency would be tolerated for the security of human lives and passengers.

He said besides increasing capability of Police and Levies, all possible measures were being made for provision of vehicles, weapons, availability of modern equipment and repair of thanas and posts. He called for speeding of actions against criminals at the thana level and exchange of criminals lists.

He said Deputy Commissioners and DPOs take action without caring for A and B areas.

RPO Arif Nawaz Khan said that action and raids should be conducted on daily basis so that criminals must not flee to other areas. He said there are problems in investigation process of Levies and Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars would be provided training with regard to legal action to remove problems in investigation process.

He said every thana has to take special measures for checking streets crimes in Quetta city so that people’s confidence is restored. He called that action against non registered and tinted glasses vehicles should also be made effective.
