Commissioner directs to resolve civic issues

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has directed the relevant officials to take special actions to resolve the issues regarding sanitation, traffic and load shedding around churches.

He said this in a meeting with a committee formed by the commissioner to facilitate the Christian community to help improve their standard of lives and resolve issues relating to their day-to-day routines.

Various issues faced by the Christian community were discussed in the meeting and it was decided that a meeting would be held with K-Electric (KE) to review exemption of churches from load-shedding during 9am to 12am on Sunday. Additional Commissioner Karachi-I Aslam Khoso was appointed this task.

Siddiqui directed the assistant commissioner of Saddar to take special steps to make immediate traffic management plan for the areas where schools run by churches were located in order to ease traffic congestion being faced there.
