Commissioner reviews water supply situation in city

KARACHI: The meeting held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui with all the deputy commissioners and officers of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) at his office to review efforts made to provide water in the city. The meeting decided to provide water through hydrants in the areas where it was scarce.

“The management of water distribution is being rectified so that the available water could be used properly. Wastage of water could be stopped and a system get establish for equal water distribution system,” Siddiqui said.

The meeting decided that all the deputy commissioners should bound assistant commissioners of their areas that they point out the areas where water was short and give the list to KWSB. They should be bound to make available water tankers at prominent places for the use of people. Banners should be displayed for public awareness where tankers would be stationed.

Commissioner Karachi said the government had ordered district officers to fix the water distribution system. All the deputy commissioners should take priority steps to provide water to the citizens.

KWSB officers have been directed to fulfill the necessities of people. While, deputy commissioners have been directed to make effective the water supply condition by working with KWSB officers.

Additional Commissioner Karachi I Javed Sibghatullah Mehr was also present on the occasion.
