Commissioner urges implementing Section 144 at beach

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Wednesday presided over a meeting to overview beach safety measures in which it was decided that section 144 would be slapped at seaside.

It was decided that beachgoers would be forced to remain away from sea. Safety divers would be bond to adopt the precautionary measures.

In the meeting it has also been decided collaboration would be increased between KMC’s divers and the divers of other welfare associations likes Edhi and Aman Foundation to overcome any unpleasant situation.

For the guidance of beach visitors a guidance map will be displayed through which the dangerous part of the beach will be highlighted.

Relevant Additional Deputy commissioners, representatives of fire brigade, Port Qasim Authority, Pakistan Maritime, Cantonment Boards Pakistan Coast Guard, KPT, Sindh Coastal Development Authority and Civil Defense officers also attended the meeting.
