KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has warned retailers of basic items to stop profiteering by selling citizens items at rates more than fixed by government and if they got those things at more rates from wholesalers then they should complain at commissioner complaint center no 99203443, otherwise get ready for the punishment.

Siddiqui said that government writ would be established at any cost and shopkeepers would not be allowed to sell customers things at rates more than government rate list by making lame excuses.

He said this while on a visit to Hijrat Colony, Khyaban e Badr, Kyaban e Commercial and other many bazaars of the city to check prices. Additional Deputy Commissioner South Fayyaz Solangi, Assistant Commissioner Civil Lines Maqsood Ghumrou and Assistant Commissioner Saddar Sajjad Abro were also present on the occasion.

On seeing the commissioner coming, many fruit selling vendors fled away who were called back and told to sell fruits according to government rate list without any fear but if they tried to sell fruits at more prices than government’s fixed then strict action would be taken against them.
