Concern shown on exam centre in another town

KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has finalized preparations of SSC Annual Examination, 2014 Science and General Groups (Regular and Private), scheduled from Wednesday the 2nd April, 2014 to 22nd April, 2014.

However, against the set policy of BESK that exam centers of students would be in their own town, the exam centre of male and female students of Garnish Pubic School, Seeta Nagar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town is established in PIA Public School Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi.

The parents are perturbed why the students including female students of a school of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town are compelled to go to the school of another town, while dozens of exam centers are present in Gulshan-e-Iqbal town. They demanded from the chairman BSEK to immediately take notice of the issue and do the needful.

However, overall approximately 3,25,000 candidates will appear in said Examination among those 1,37,708 in X Science (Boys 76,701 & Girls 61,007), 1,36,075 in Class IX Science Group (Boys 74,937 & Girls 61,138), 14,674 in Class X General Group (Regular) (Boys 4,058 and Girls 10,616 ), 18,239 in Class IX General Group (Regular) (Boys 4,356 & Girls 13,883), 17,569 in Class IX-X General Group (Private) (Boys 11,176 and Girls 6,393) and 295 Examination Centres (Boys 157 and Girls 138) have been made in this regard. Among these 5 Examination Centres has been fixed in Government Colleges. Moreover, 2 open centres for those candidates who submit their examination forms late and 47 reserve centres have been fixed in 18 towns of Karachi.

An Examination Centre has also been fixed at Central Jail, Karachi for prisoner candidates. 19 Special Vigilance Teams under the supervision of Board Officers have also been formed to inspect the Examination Centres. 371 C.C.Os. (Centre Control Officers) will deliver the Sealed Cover Packets of Question Papers to all the Examination Centres in the Morning and Afternoon shift.
