KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has taken notice of illegal water hydrants across the city while inspecting the wrecked roads adjoining Safoora Chowrangi. He held illegal water hydrants responsible for the destruction of roads and water supply lines. He stated that those hydrants were not only purloining water but also upsetting government revenue and fair distribution of water. Moreover, he expressed severe displeasure over it.

Consequently, the commissioner passed orders of cutting water supply to relevant hydrant and directed all government and private water tankers to replace the vehicle spigots, if leaking, for the protection of roads. “The water leakage from tankers, while travelling, result in bike sliding accidents and destruction of roads; causing several causalities and damages to infrastructure,” he added.
