KARACHI: President Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Sindh chapter Haleem Adil Sheikh on Thursday said the provincial government should stop using the provincial assembly platform as a weapon against Rangers. The corrupt politicians want to get rid of Rangers, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

“The Sindh government has resorted to blackmailing to protect their big ‘crocodiles’ involved in mega corruption. A conspiracy is being hatched against the manner in which Rangers are making efforts to return lights and peace to the city by getting the city rid of target killers, kidnapping for ransom and extortion,” he charged.

He said Pakistan Peoples Party’s ex-minister for law had started campaign against NAB. He asked ehy did he not finish the role of NAB when he was law minister.

“We ask the federal government that NAB was working all right until it did not reveal list of mega corruption in Sindh government departments and its accountability is being discussed on the basis of baseless allegations after it issued the list,” he said while addressing emergency meeting with his party leaders at Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Sindh’s provincial secretariat.

Sheikh said the Sindh government has started crying against Rangers after they made efforts to bring back the looted money from corrupt people. And also because the facilitators could not digest it when noose started tightening around the terrorists involved in target killing and kidnapping for ransom.

“Two big political parties have started trying to get stopped the operation started under National Action Plan. Extension of only a month to Rangers along conditions shows that the Sindh government has decided to protect the corrupt mafia,” he said.

He said PML-Q would start a campaign in support of Rangers. The government was trying to seize Rangers authority which we would not let be successful. “We salute Rangers operation against terrorists,” he said.
