Cotton growers face losses as rate slumps

TALHAR: The cotton growers of Talhar and Badin have been facing big losses due to decreased cotton price, and now ginning factories have even stopped to buying cotton till Eid-ul-Fitr.

Local cotton growers say as the new crop reached market the traders lowered the buying price.

They said cotton is being sold in market at Rs.2400 per 40Kg and three kilograms are being deducted on every 40kg, due this low tactics of traders, the growers are facing huge losses.

They said with start of the monsoon season traders would further decrease the buying price.
