CS chairs meeting on polio

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha has said spread of polio a dangerous disease is matter of grave concern for the province and the country. Future of our children and country is linked with it. We would take concrete measures for its eradication on emergency basis.

This he stated while chairing a meeting of District Health Officers here Sunday. Meeting was aimed at to cripple dangerous disease of polio which was disabling our children permanently.

Secretary Health Arshad Bugti, Secretary Education Schools Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary Religious affairs Abdul Mannan Agha, CCPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Commissioner Quetta division Qambar Dashti and others were present.

Chief Secretary said the districts where there are dangers of polio medical camps would be set up there. He said we have to defeat this disease at every cost and it is our national duty as well to work for its eradication seriously.

He directed participants to provide best facilities of transport to the polio teams and ensure security system. Teachers, councilors and tribal elders should also be included during the polio campaign.

He said it is also responsibility of parents that their children are not left from taking anti polio drops.

Taking serious notice of absent DHOs Chief secretary directed Secretary Health to bind to remain present in their respective districts during polio drive.

He said he would review anti polio drive reports on daily basis and strict action would be taken against lapses.

He made it clear upon the participants that he would monitor anti polio drive personally and visit various parts because our objective is to eradicate polio forever.
