Dar chairs meeting on law review committee

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Laws Review Committee to review different draft laws as well as current status of international litigation regarding the Reckodiq Project against Government of Balochistan as well as the Federal Government.

Different aspects of the arbitration came under discussion. Participants of the meeting expressed the view that once litigation concludes, the project would contribute massively to the economic uplift of the Baluchistan province, especially in creating large number of job opportunities.

The meeting agreed to make all out efforts for speedy settlement of the arbitration issues. Matters relating to promulgation of ordinance relating to GIDC and other legislations in pipeline were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for P&NR, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister for S&T, Mr. Zahid Hamid, Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed, Attorney General of Pakistan, Mr. Salman Aslam Butt and Mr. Nadeem Hassan Asif, Secretary Establishment.
