Islamabad: Prime Minister of ’s Special Envoy (safeer-e sarmaya kari), Ambassador Javed Malik in association with distinguished members of Pakistani community and business leaders organized an impressive ceremony to mark Pakistan National Day and pay tribute to Pakistan’s deep rooted relations with the UAE.
Hundreds of Pakistanis were joined by Emiratis, Arabs, Europeans, Americans and various other nationalities to mark the important occasion which also featured an impressive display of Pakistani Art including paintings by Gulgee, Jamshed Qaiser, Mashkoor Rana and other prolific Pakistani painters, said a press release received here Friday.
This was part of Ambassador Javed Malik’s efforts to highlight Pakistan’s positive image at an international stage and build positive goodwill about Pakistan globally in order to pave the way of encouraging investment and expanding the scope of trade with Pakistan.
Also present on the occasion was Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Law Minister Punjab, and speaking as the guest of honour, he appreciated the Pakistani community living overseas and said that “the hard work being put in by the overseas Pakistanis is playing a vital role in turning around the country’s economy” he assured the audience that the present government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is determined to resolve the issues facing the country and put the country on the road to progress.
He appreciated the valuable work being done by Ambassador Javed Malik to encourage investment into Pakistan and thanked the UAE business community who have come forward to invest in Pakistan, and the Pakistan Muslim League (N) leadership of UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Javed Malik, Prime Minister’s Special Envoy say that today under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Pakistan is moving forward according to the vision of its founding fathers to build a Progressive, Modern and a Democratic welfare state that is at peace with itself and its neighbours and where citizens are empowered though education, employment and opportunity to improve the quality of their lives.
He further said that “The Present government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif believes in transparency, good governance and zero tolerance for corruption and this has restored confidence of both domestic and international investors.
The Prime Minister has made revival of Pakistan’s Economy as his priority and is working on a comprehensive strategy aimed at creating a business friendly environment based on policies of Liberalization, De-regulation, Privatization and ease of doing business.
Highlighting the positive role that overseas Pakistanis can play for the development of Pakistan he said that the government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appreciates and values the role of Overseas Pakistanis and we will ensure that they are given the right opportunities to play a meaningful role in the nation building process.
Ambassador Javed Malik also paid tribute to the President of UAE His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum whose dynamic policies have made it possible for over a million Pakistanis to live, work and do business in the UAE.
