DC directs the District officers to be ready for newly introduced LG System

Peshawar: Deputy Commissioner Kohat Zahir Shah Mohmand has directed the District Officers of Line Departments to be ready for the newly introduced Local Government System in the Province and ensure implementation on the Local Government Act 2013 in its true spirit so as the PTI led government agenda of change could be materialized in letter and spirit.

He issued these directives while chairing a review meeting on performance of the government departments at Kohat the other day. The meeting beside others was also attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Fakhr-ud-din, Assistant Commissioner Lachi Mohammad Rashid, Additional Assistant Commissioner Syed Iqrar Ali Shah and district heads of the departments. Heads of the departments presented their performance one by one and also identified issues in the implementation process in detail.

The Deputy Commissioner maintained that the new Local Government System was a great challenge for the entire government machinery side by side the elected representatives and extra efforts would be needed to actively counter this challenge.

He added that spending of huge amount of Rs. 42 billion was a gigantic task for us and we, with the support of elected people ensure its proper and timely expenditure accordingly. He further said that this is the transition period and we may face some difficulties in the implementation process, however, we all jointly do our duty as per the government vision.

Mr. Shah declared that there would be no compromise on spurious drugs and encroachments in the district and directed the authorities concerned to carry out crackdown against such elements without any fear and pressure.

He also asked the health department to ensure the ban on entry of medical raps in the hospitals before 12:30 pm and also submit the detail report of inquiries with its results so far carried out in the current year.
