Death of Sardar Qayyum irreparable loss: Ali Raza Syed

Brussels: Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed has said that the sad demise of great Kashmiri leader and former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Khan has sent a wave of grief and sorrow throughout the Pakistan particularly among the people of both parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

In his condolence statement from Brussels, Ali Raza Syed has described the death of “Mujahid- e- Awal” Sardar Abdul Qayyum as an irreparable loss to the Kashmiris.

He said, late Sardar Abdul Qayyum had a deep respect in the hearts of entire Kashmiri nation and all of them stand with his family in this hour of grief.

Chairman Kashmir Council EU lauded the political and social services rendered by Sardar Qayyum for the people of AJK and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant patience to the bereaved family to bear the great loss.

The former President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Khan, popularly known as Mujahid-e-Awal, passed away at Jinnah hospital in Rawalpindi on Friday.

He was 91 and was suffering from a serious lung ailment for the past few years. He was considered as one of the founders of the Kashmir Liberation Movement and the supreme leader of the Muslim Conference, the oldest political party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He was also very active member of Pakistan Independence Movement.
