Delay in appointment of ADAO disturbs govt working

LARKANA: The post of Additional District Accounts Officer-1 (ADAO) of District Accounts Officer’s office is lying vacant since October 14, 2014 due to which the work is continuously pending, causing hardships to the government servants.

According to the letter addressed to the Secretary, Finance Department, the District Accounts Officer, Larkana, informed him that Muhammad Suleman Mirani, Additional District Accounts Officer, was placed under suspension on 01.10.2014 and his headquarter was fixed at Finance Department, Karachi.

He relinquished the charge of ADAO-I on 14.10.2014 and since then the post of ADAO-I is lying vacant. The DAO further added that due to the vacancy of the post, the work of ADAO suffers badly whereas the work assigned to the ADAO is accumulating regularly raising to pendency day by day. The DAO further requested him another officer may be assigned his duties so that government work do not suffer.

According to reliable sources, more than 250 GP Fund and other related cases had piled up. All these cases have either been approved by their respective departments but were still pending due to non-availability of the relevant officer.

Copy of this letter has also been sent to Accountant General Sindh @ Karachi, but so far no officer has been posted to dispose off such pending cases due to which the government servants were suffering seriously for no fault of theirs at all. They demanded immediate solution to their problems end to the unrest among them.
