Delegations meet CM

Peshawar: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that PTI has launched Azadi March in Islamabad in larger national interest. He reiterated that we wanted to let the nation get rid of the politics of self-interest, poll rigging, corruption and nepotism and hence would culminate it after achieving our set goals.

He further stated that the slogans of “Go Nawaz go” even in the rallies of PML-N in Peshawar after Punjab are infact the one and united voice of the nation and hence the Sharif Kings must quit with honour by reading writing on the wall, otherwise, he cautioned the rulers not to further test patience of the people to teach them bitter and didactic lessons. He however said that PTI leadership could not be scared of threats, fake cases, propaganda and intrigues or they might taste its consequences by themselves, he added.

Talking to various delegations including one of ex-Nazims and notables from Mardan, which called on him in the leadership of MPA Haji Ubaidullah Mayar here in CM Secretariat Peshawar, he said that the provincial government is giving special attention to the provision of education and health facilities to the masses. Because, he said only educated, healthy and disease-free society can guarantee national development.

Chief Minister said that drastic steps have been taken to improve quality of education in the province. Besides effective monitoring of schools and ensuring presence of teachers in educational institutions, the courses and syllabus of all schools have been uniformed and English have been made medium of instruction to let the children of poor also compete that of rich in all spheres of life.

He said the free emergency services have been extended to all district headquarters hospitals while deficiency of staff and equipment in all health center is being fulfilled on emergency bases to provide better treatment facilities to the people at local level and get them rid from the agonies of travelling to far-flung big cities. He also went on to say that the starting of a public participation based health, cleanliness and municipal services program is also under consideration of the provincial government.

Pervez Khattak said that the provincial government has completed preparations for the local bodies’ polls from all aspects and its holding is even possible on a short notice. Under the new local government system, besides, municipality, the powers of the almost all departments including health and education have been transferred to village and union councils.

Similarly, he said that besides other steps for local governments, self-sufficiency in development process, 30 per cent resources of the provincial government have also been transferred to them, which is revolutionary step in itself.

About provision of sports facilities, the chief minister said that a comprehensive program for the construction of sports’ stadium at every tehsil level has been started and work on it is in progress in 76 tehsils of the province.

He said in next phase a program will be launched for construction of sports’ stadium in very provincial assembly constituency, which will be followed by initiating such program at union council level.

He urged the youth for promotion of constructive thinking in the society to put both the province and its people on the path of progress and development. He also assured sympathetic review of all problems and demands presented by the delegation.
