KARACHI: Activists of Indus Social Forum (ISF) Karachi division demonstrated outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) over a terminology of ‘Sindh and Karachi’ being used by mainstream media and politicians, on Saturday.

The activists mostly comprised university students displaying banners and placards inscribed with slogans ‘Stop saying Karachi & Sindh’ they were chanting slogans ‘Karachi is heart of Sindh’.

The activists termed the terminology as a conspiracy and asserted that Chowkundi cemetery; shrines of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and Landhi were prime evidences that the city of Karachi is a part and parcel of Sindh province.

“The Sindh Assembly, High court, Sindh Secretariat, and other prominent provincial buildings are situated in Karachi. The constant use of the terminology of Karachi and Andron-e-Sindh by media and politicians is irrational,” said Ilyas Abbasi, an activist.

Moreover, protestors urged politicians, anchorpersons, print and electronic media to avoid applying terminology separating Karachi from Sindh.
