DG NAB KP directs secretary labour and secretary worker welfare board office to check malpractices

Peshawar: NAB(KP) shown his concern over leakages and loopholes in the operations of Worker Welfare Board (WWB) and directed the Secretary Worker Welfare Board and Secretary Labour to give presentation on the working of Workers Welfare Board and Labour Department.

DG NAB(KP) Shahzad Saleem directed the authorities of Labour Department and Worker Welfare Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Office Peshawar to ensure transparency in their system.

This, he said during a briefing / presentation given by Secretary Labour Deptts Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Engineer Naimatullah Khan Gandapur, Secretary Worker Welfare Board (KP) to DG NAB (KP) at NAB Office, Hayatabad, Peshawar. The meeting was also attended by other officers of NAB, WWB and Labour Deptt Peshawar.

It merits to mention here that National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has conducted series of inquiries / investigations against officers / officials of Worker Welfare Board and Labour Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Outcome of these inquiries / investigations.

NAB (KP) arrested Tariq Awan, Ex-Secretary Workers Welfare Board including five others who embezzled millions of rupees in recruitment, purchases and award of scholarship. A reference of more than 3 billion rupees has already been filled in accountability court against the 6 accused persons who are main culprits of the mega scam.

DG NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa directed the authorities concerned to take special steps both short and long term in collaboration with NAB including establishment of complaint cell, adoption of One Window Operation and other recommendations to facilitate speedy disposal of claims and issued also special instructions to subordinate tiers not to indulge in any malpractice.

Secretary Labour Department and Secretary Worker Welfare Board assured their complete cooperation to take all such measures.
