DG rangers reviews security arrangements

KARACHI: Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh, Major General Rizwan Akhtar, on Wednesday chaired a high level meeting at Pakistan Rangers Sindh Headquarters to review the security arrangements during Ramazan.

He briefed about the threat perception prevalent in view of the current situation of the country. He instructed rangers officials to beef up security of shopping malls and Eid bazaars throughout Karachi. He said Rangers Quick Reaction Force would be deployed at selective points in the metropolis to response to any kind of threat in minimum possible time.

Akhtar said that a code of conduct has been devised and according to this display of weapons should be strictly forbidden. He said that only Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in uniform would be allowed to carry weapons.

He said that the security guards would have to follow the rules and must be in possession of valid legal documents. He said that any guard found in any kind of violation would be arrested.
