DIG CIA police Khalique sheikh returns award cheque for field staff

KARACHI: After receiving the reward money from Sindh Home Minster Sohail Anwar Siyal at a ceremony held last month at Sindh Police Headquarters in Garden area of the city, Deputy Inspector General of CIA police Khalique sheikh has returned his award cheque to Karachi Traffic Police Office on Monday with special thank giving note that this reward money should be distributed among field officials of Karachi Traffic Police.

Shaikh believed that he had no right to take the reward money and it should be handed over to those hard working officers who are performing duties in the field from day to night. Earlier, Shaikh remained a DIG Karachi Traffic Police from March 16 to September 12, 2013. He received the cheque of Rs 8,500 as a reward money which he had returned today.

It may be noted that the reward money was distributed among 3,900 serving officials, personnel of the traffic police, and 1,444 other personnel who either retired from service of traffic police, or were transferred from service, or who passed away during last five years. The reward money was also received by DIG Traffic Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh, former DIG Licensing and Training Aftab Pathan.
