Dilawar Abbas elected as ATF Senior Vice PresidentNovember 30, 2015
Karachi: Patron Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Syed Dilawar Abbas has been elected as one of the two Senior Vice Presidents of Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) in its recently concluded Annual General Meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The meeting was held on November 28 and 29. The AGM of the apex body for the sport in the Asia/Oceania Zone, with some 44 member nations, also announced AGM 2016 of the ATF will be held in Pakistan, the first time, ever in the history of Pakistan.
After returning to Pakistan, President PTF Salim Saifullah expressed his thanks to member nations and especially to Anil Khanna, ATF President and Vice-President of the International Tennis Federation, who had also recently visited Pakistan.
Meanwhile, AGM participants resolved to request the ITF to positively consider the holding of the upcoming Davis Cup tie between Pakistan and China scheduled to be held from March 4 to 6, 2016 in Pakistan, which has the hosting nation rights.
Following up on his commitment with PTF, Anil K. Khanna has sent a strong request to the ITF in this regard urging the ITF to allow the Davis Cup tie and international tennis events to return to Pakistan, which has been deprived for too long.
