Dipl: (Pakistan, India’s top diplomats meet in Bangkok)

ISLAMABAD: Few days after the interaction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the UN Climate Conference in Paris, top diplomats of Pakistan and India met in Bangkok to discuss a round of issues.

According to a joint statement issued by the Foreign Office and India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Adviser on National Security Lt Gen (retired) Nasir Khan Janjua held talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

“Discussions were held in a candid, cordial and constructive atmosphere,” it said. “Discussions covered peace and security, terrorism, Jammu Kashmir – and other issues – including tranquillity along the Line of Control,” it added.

The statement said that the advisers were accompanied by foreign secretaries of the two countries, adding that the meeting decided to carry forward the constructive engagement.
