Diplomatic: (Germany keen to enhance ties with Pakistan: Steinlein)

ISLAMABAD: A 13-member German delegation led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Stephan Steinlein held a meeting with Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz here on Wednesday.

The Adviser highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential and the Prime Minister’s emphasis on trade and not aid. He stressed that Pakistan was an investment friendly country and provided business opportunities to foreign investors in diverse areas of economy.Energy, especially renewable energy can be an area of special interest to German investors.

The Adviser also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to fight terrorism and extremism. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to take forward the process of constructive engagement with Afghanistan and highlighted Prime Minister’s vision of a peaceful neighbourhood. He appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in Afghanistan and the vision of the Pakistani leadership for regional stability and economic development.
