Diplomatic (Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Serbia calls on President)March 28, 2014
Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Arif Mehmood Friday called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed matters pertaining to his diplomatic assignment.
The President felicitated Mr. Arif Mehmood on his new responsibilities and urged him to focus on strengthening Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Serbia particularly trade and commercial ties.
The President on the occasion said that government attaches great importance to the promotion of trade and economic cooperation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives and underscored the need for pursuance of robust economic diplomacy by all the diplomats to further enhance Pakistan’s economic and trade ties with the countries of their posting, hence underpinning economic footprints of the country in the comity of nations.
The President stated that Pakistan values its bilateral relations with Serbia and advised the newly appointed ambassador to focus on strengthening Pak- Serbia bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in diverse areas.
The ambassador designate thanked the President for reposing confidence in him and assured that he would do his best to augment Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Serbia with particular focus on enhancing trade, business and Commercial ties.
