District: (Couple killed on the name of honour for love marriage)

SIALKOT: Both the unknown man and woman killed on the name of honour were identified as Mohammad Rafiq alias Ejaz and Abida Bibi. Both were the husband and wife and had been residing there in village Jhaalwala-Ladheywala Goraya (Gujranwala District) after their love marriage.

The couple was shot dead for honour by the infuriated family of the slain woman Abid Bibi for doing love marriage without their consent as well. It was the second marriage of both of them. Mohammad Rafiq was already married and he had five children from his first wife. He conducted his second marriage (love marriage) with Abid Bibi, who had two daughters from her first husband and got divorce from her first husband.

Satrah police have registered a case (No. 442/2015) under section 109 and 302 PPC against seven accused Mati Ullah Goraya, his wife Irshad Bibi (the parents of slain Abida Bibi), Shaukat and Rashid (the uncles of Abida Bibi) and Mohammad Ashraf and Mohammad Azam (the brothers of Abida Bibi) for killing the couple for 21conducting this love marriage without their consent.

FIR have lodged by slain Mohammad Rafiq’s elder brother Muhamamd Nawaz, which reveals that slain Abida Bibi’s family killed this couple for honour for their love marriage.

Accused first tied both husband and wife (Rafiq and Abida) with the seats of a car (LZE-1015) with ropes and killed them while firing bullets in their heads. Later, the accused threw the said car with dead bodies into Bambaanwala-Ravi-Baidian (BRB) Canal Daska. Some local villagers had found the said car in the canal near Veerwala-Satrah, Daska tehsil here on Tuesday (yesterday) and they informed the local police.

FIR revealed that this nasty double murder incident occurred on Dec 21, 2015 (three days ago). Satrah-Daska police have started investigation with no arrest, in this regard. Earlier, the police handed over the dead bodies of the slain couple to their heirs after autopsy held at Daska Civil Hospital for burial.
