District: Journalists condemn brutal assault of police

Chakwal: Protest rally was taken out by journalist community from Chakwal Press club on Monday to condemn brutal assault of police on media persons at Islamabad.

The rally started from Chakwal Press club and the journalists wore black band on their shoulder. They were chanting slogans against the government and demanding to provide protection to the journalists.

The rally was lead by leader of Pakistan Federal union of journalist CR Shamsi and Chairman Chakwal Press club Kh. Babar Saleem Mehmood.

The rally was ended at Tehsil chowk Chakwal and heavy contingent of police headed by DSP Saleem Khattak was a accompanying the rally.

Earlier a protest meeting was also held at Chakwal press club and it was presided over by president press club Arshad Mehmood Abbasi. Mohammad Akram dervish Mohammad Khan Aqil, kh. Babar Saleem Mehmood and Fakhar Mehmood Mirza and CR Shamsi also spoke on this occasion.

The speakers condemned the police action against the media person at Islamabad and demanded immediate inquiry in this regard and those policemen who found guilty must be brought into the book.
