District: (Severe electric shock victim minor girl dies after fighting for life for a month)July 20, 2015
SIALKOT: A severe electric shock victim minor girl Urooj (4 years old) succumbed to her injuries after fighting for life at Mayo Hospital Lahore for a month, while the left foot of her elder sister Amina(6 years old) was cut by the doctors due to serious burn infection.
According to the details, both minor girls Urooj and Amina, the real sisters, were passing through the local street in Sambrial city’s congested Sultanpura locality when the main 11KV electric cable fell on them one month ago.
Both of the minor sisters received severe electric shock and burn injuries. Both were shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore in critical condition, where younger sister Urooj succumbed to her injuries after fighting for life for a month, while the left foot of the second victim Amina was also cut due to infection after the serious burn wounds.
She was laid to rest in her native graveyard in Sultanpura-Sambrial city here Tuesday. A large number of the people attended her funeral during the light rainy weather.
Meanwhile, Sambrial police have registered a case against accused SDO Sub Division Sambrial Khalid Mehmood, line superintendent Abdul Rasheed Cheema and line man Ehsan Elahi for their negligence in maintenance of the main electric lines in Sambrial, which resulted into this tragedy. Police have registered this case on the report of Nasir Mehmood (the uncle of the deceased minor girl), with no arrest, in this regard.
