District: (Sikh pilgrims hail ongoing Indo-Pak CBMs)

SIALKOT: A delegation of 550 male and female Sikh Yatrees from across Pakistan visited the Darbar Sahib Guru Nanak at Kartarpura- Shakargarh on Tuesday and performed their religious rites.

The Sikh Yatrees also took “Ashnaan” (bath) there. They also distributed the charity meals and sweets there during the light rainy weather. They also distributed special sweets among the local people, besides, extending gratitude to the Muslims.

The Sikhs leaders Sardar Balbeet Singh, Sardar Badal Singh, Preet Kaur and Manmohan Singh jointly led the delegation. They visiting Sikhs also refreshed their pre-partition memories.

According to local MPA Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora, the visiting Sikhs highly hailed the Pakistan Government’s sincere efforts for safeguarding the Sikh Gurdawaras and their other sacred places in Pakistan. The Sikhs also hailed the ongoing Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) between Pakistan and India, he added. On this occasion, foolproof security arrangements were made by police and other security agencies to safeguard the Sikh Yatrees.
