Dr Raj Wali Shah Khattak laid to rest

Peshawar: Renowned Pashto poet, critic, researcher and writers, Dr Raj Wali Shah Khattak, who died of heart attack on Monday night was laid to rest at his ancestor village, Dak Ismail Khel, Nowshera on Tuesday.

His Nimaz-e-Janaza was offered at Daag Ismail Khan on Tuesday on 11 AM which was attended by writers, scholars and large number of people of his area. People from different walks of life expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sudden demise of Dr Raj Wali Shah Khattak  and said his literary services would be remembered for long.

Cultural journalist forum (CJF) has also expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Raj Wali Shah Khattak. Ihtisham Toru, the President CJF said that the sudden demise of the
epic poet and writer is a huge loss for the Pashto literature.

He added that during his life time association with Pashto literature, Rajwali Shah Khattak has rendered enormous services to Pakhtu literature which will always be remember by Pakhtuns.

He said that he was not only an epic ghazal writer, but also did huge research work in the field of culture, heritage, poetry, Pakhtunwali and other fields of literature. Besides this, continued Toru, Rajwali Khattak has also trained hundreds of students during his association with Pakhto department, University of Peshawar who will continue their services for the Pakhtun culture.
