Drama serial on parenting and youth problems launched

KARACHI: “One should not shy away from discussing parenting and issues of growing up children on media as this is the only way we can ensure a healthy and confident next generation,” said the veteran playwright Shahid Nadeem at the colorful launch ceremony of his upcoming drama serial ‘Kis Se Kahoon’ here at a local hotel.

Scripted by Shahid Nadeem and directed by the talented Kashif Nisar, ‘Kis Se Kahoon’ is the latest production of Communications Research Strategies (CRS). Main cast of the drama includes Sajal Ali, Agha Ali, Yumna Zaidi, Samina Ahmad, Simi Raheel, Mohsin Gillani, Aurangzeb Laghari, Eesa Chaudhry and Iftikhar Thakur.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Operating Officer CRS and Executive Producer of the play Khawar Azhar said that CRS had always believed that entertainment genre could tactfully and effectively used to bring sensitive issues in to general discourse. “Be it ‘Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin’ highlighting the menace of extremism and terrorism or ‘Kis Se Kahoon’ bringing issues of growing up adolescents, unhealthy peer pressure, addiction and diseases like Hepatitis & HIV/AIDS to the screen, CRS has proved that complex issues can be explained through entertainment”, Khawar added.

The director Kashif Nisar stated that it was always very challenging to handle such subjects on screen as they needed a subtle and nuanced approach. He promised the audience and viewers a sensitively done artistic play in shape of ‘Kis Se Kahoon’.

CRS has produced ‘Kis Se Kahoon’ with the support of EHAD, an organization working on the issue of better parenting.

The launch ceremony was conducted by Tauseeq Haider and prominent showbiz personalities like Samina Ahmed, Agha Ali, Yumna Zaidi, attended the event. A large number of families and youth also participated in the ceremony.

Besides an artistic presentation of the theme song, teasers and promos of the drama serial, the show included mesmerizing performance by the legend Humaira Channa. Theme song of the play is written by young lyricist Imran Raza and the music is arranged by Sahir Ali Bagga.

The story of the 16-episode drama serial ‘Kis Se Kahoon’ revolves around two young girls Hadiqa and Tanha that are seeking right answers for their new self but the parents feel reluctant to guide them. Hadiqa and Tanha, though belong to different social classes, face numerous challenges during their growing up age and are shown struggling as their parents do not seem to have time for their children. It is for the first time that such an issue is being brought on to TV screens.
