DSO will organize a two day inter club competition from September 8

Peshawar: The Tug of War of Association district Lower Dir in collaboration with District Sports Officer (DSO) will organize a two day inter club competition of the game from September 8 (tomorrow) in Timergara in which different registered clubs of the district take part.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tug of War Association, General Secretary Taj Mohammad Khan said that committee had been formed for this purpose which had completed all the preparation regarding the event.

He added that the association wanted to promote the tug of war game in provincial capital Peshawar and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would organize such events in near future in Malakand, Buner and Charsadda.

The association secretary lamented that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Board still had not provided the previous year annual grant to provincial sports associations, however on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association president Senator Haji Ghulam Ali and general secretary Qamar Zaman the sports activities was going on in the province.

Mr Taj expected that if provincial government provided annual grant to the provincial associations they would very soon organize various competition of tug of war game among male and female players at national as well as provincial level in Peshawar.

He said that with the appointment of new Director General (DG) Sports Emal Shah, the sports activities would be promoted in real sense in the province.
