Economic corridor to create new job opportunitiesOctober 13, 2015
Karachi: Pakistan China Economic Corridor would boost trade and create a lot of job opportunities in Pakistan, said Chinese Consul General in Karachi Ma Yaou while talking to a delegation of Pak-China Club led by their patron Mehtab Uddin Chawla and president Javed Rashid Arain who called on him.
They also discussed the ways and means to boost higher education in Pakistan threadbare. The idea of sending a delegation of Pak China Club to China on government level was also discussed. Dr Suleman Otho, general secretary Khalid Iqbal Khan, chief adviser Hong Jin Kong, Mohammad Ameen Ghaziani, Tariq Khan and Abdul Malik Ghandhak-walla also included in the delegation.
Mehtab Uddin Chawla told the Chinese consul general that there is immense potential of growth in the field of textile. He said he himself has visited China in this regard many times. He said the Pak China Economic Corridor is great project and its completion would further boost trade and economic activities.
Javed Rashid Asghar Arain said after the completion of this economic corridor, vast chances would be there in trade and economy besides creation of a lot of new jobs. He said this economic corridor would also brighten the future of logistics services in Pakistan. He said presently in Pakistan hardly 0.5million trucks are available that are not even enough to cater the needs of local cargo trade. He said after the completion of the economic corridor the business volume would expand greatly and goods vehicles would be required in a large number. He suggested that the truck manufacturing industry of China should set up their factories in Pakistan as soon as possible so as to meet the future demand of trucks.
Other members of the delegation also stressed the need to boost oil and gas, energy and power generation sectors and open Chinese universities for modern higher education in Pakistan.
The Chinese consul general listened to these suggestions keenly and assured the delegation of his all-out cooperation in this regard. He hoped that with every passing day the closer trade relations between the two countries would go further cemented. He said after the completion of Pak China Economic Corridor the bilateral trade would grow sharply and more job opportunities would be enjoyed in Pakistan.
