Edu (Govt striving hard to increase literacy rate,Usman)

Islamabad: Barrister Usman Ibrahim, Minister of State Capital Administration & Development Division, was the chief guest in a function arranged by Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) at Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-7/2, in connection with International Literacy Day.

Speaking on the occasion,Minister of State, CA&DD re-iterated that present government is striving hard to increase the literacy rate. In this connection, CA&DD conducted a survey of out of school children in Islamabad.

Through this survey 12000 out of school children have been identified. CA&DD set up a Literacy Cell, reporting directly to Minister with a mandate to enroll out of school children. Minister of State also declared that he issued orders to recruit 150 teachers under Literacy Cell. He also informed the audience that CA&DD is devising special curriculum for out of school children.

Minister of State CA&DD, also expressed that on Turkish Model a special curriculum comprising religious and normal education will be introduced on pilot basis in Islamabad. on successful experience, provincial governments will be offered to introduce same in their provinces.

He also distributed cash prizes SSC to Board position holders students of Federal Directorate of Education.
