Eight killed in city mishaps

KARACHI: Eight people were killed in different incidents in the metropolis on Monday.

In the wee hours of Monday, three persons, Hamza, 22, son of Sajjad; Arosa Sharafat, 26 and Mishal Shaukat, 19, were killed while riding a motorbike when a dumper-truck hit them near Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for autopsies.

A youth, Haq Nawaz, 26, son of Zar Mohammad, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem.

In another mishap, a 60-year-old unidentified woman was hit and killed by a train at Landhi railway track. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

A woman, Samina, 50, wife of Amanullah, was electrocuted at her home in Gulzar Colony, Korangi. The body was brought to JPMC for a postmortem.

According to rescue sources, a boy, Saif-ur-Rahman, aged about, 13, son of Ameer Rahman drowned into a Nullah in Lassi Goth, New Karachi. The body was recovered and shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.

Yet in another incident, a man, Khalil, 55, son of Abdul Ghani died after falling down from the roof of his home in Liaquat Market, Malir area. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
